About Northern Wild

Hi I’m John. Northern Wild is my passion for capturing the wild, rugged beauty of Northern England and Scotland. Based just outside the North York Moors National Park, I’ve spent over 16 years teaching creative skills, blending that experience with my love for landscapes across the Lake District, Northumberland, Yorkshire coast, and beyond.

For me, photography is about more than just images — it’s about capturing the mood and spirit of these incredible places. Through Northern Wild, I offer fine art prints and run friendly, small-group workshops and one to one tuition sessions. These are designed for photographers who want to explore, learn, and create in the field alongside others who share the same passion, without the noise or pressure of large groups.
